A month before the official open, I visited opening day for the soft launch of Trump International Hotel at 1100 Pennsylvania Ave. in Washington, D.C. Conveniently located at the WMATA Federal Triangle stop, and less than 1 kilometer from the Oval Office, Trump International Hotel is a destination for locals and visitors alike. After $200 million in renovation, elements of the Old Post Office were tastefully preserved and enhanced with new decor.
Rooms generally start at $650. Rooms include complementary phone and Wifi internet, with TVs 55” or greater. 24 hour dining is also a key feature.
The only other building on the block with Trump International Hotel is the Internal Revenue Service, coincidentally. Work was feverishly apace for the official opening in October 2016. The ballrooms were tastefully appointed and convenient to access, though work in the hallways was still in progress.
Two cocktails were $27.50 with tax, plus tip. Host Chenee was knowledgeable and talented, with specialties including “Ginger Mint Smash” and “Moscow milk with cucumber”.
Wifi in the Trump International Hotel Lobby was in work, with numerous APs visible.
