I haven’t had a formal electromagnetics course yet, but I have had a lot of RF systems experience. Prof. Kempel and Greg Charvat, a PhD student though my background would be a good fit for making a new generation of radar. Using old techniques in a new way to avoid the need to use expensive parts costing thousands of dollars to build a radar. Greg’s Masters thesis showed some of this in using a noisy magnetron to make a quite capable radar. I feel proud to be taking this to the next level.
And I feel pretty proud to have aced my first full academic year with 4.0! When I think about the Honors mandate with regard to research and service, this research internship will be a great implementation.
