Connecting to Boston University’s 802.1x Wifi from a Linux device

Note: In April 2016, we just used the default Intel Edison values (not the values below) with the Intel Edison and the Edison Just Worked on BU Wifi. So don’t bother with what’s below unless the defaults don’t work.

If you don’t have a graphical desktop, BU’s Enterprise Wifi requires the following manual settings. The settings below are from BU’s recommended settings.

Configuring Intel Edison Wifi for Boston University 802.1x

nano /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf

paste at the end:

Then

reboot

Intel Edison wpa_cli feedback upon successful Wifi connection:

wpa_cli -i wlan0 status

gives the feedback
